Find the Chair!
I've always wondered why some people demand others for help when asking in a nice and proper manner will get the job done much faster.
Why do I say that suddenly? Because I am currently manning the receptionist desk for the afternoon and as always you get the lost callers, friendly callers, and rude callers.
A particular caller asked if I could check on the status of a fax for him, and since he asked in a very nice tone, I felt more than happy to help him out even if it meant running around and making multiple phone calls to get the job done.
But say, if the caller had asked in a very nasty tone, I would have said "okay," and continued sitting at my desk, making only half an effort to help him check out his request and what would that do for him?
Ah, don't say, "That's terrible, but it's your job!" because in the end it still isn't part of my job scope and hence I do not feel very much obliged to be nice to people who aren't nice to me, lol.
Bah!
Anyways, there is currently a training meeting going on in the meeting room behind me and LiLing and I have been scratching our heads trying to figure out where to find extra chairs!
Imagine a meeting room only meant to hold about 12 people, trying to squeeze maybe 20 or more people inside. And from 3pm to suppositely 6pm, people have been trickling in when there are no more seats in the room lol~~
Stole Borrowed chairs from engineers who were not around today after using up all our backup chairs. Apparently if another person appears right now, that person shall jolly well stand because we really don't have anymore chairs hahaha~~
But my company's people are all funny people too; all holding meetings at the same time and day. Just now we were nearly afraid that the clients of my boss would have no place to go because all the other rooms were full. Luckily downstairs had one vacant room. =X LiLing suggested for us to kick out TK from his wondrously big and sceneric office if we really had no other place to go haha! Good idea!
Went to East Coast Park yesterday with the other colleagues. Pics are with LiLing at the moment so shall post them up another time.
