Mum's Birthday Pre-Celebration (2008)
This is actually a belated post, but just to make things less confusing, I'll post it on the night of the actual event.. Lol..
(Because it's actually 2am right now and I have only had 4 hours of sleep the night before, please excuse me if my english grammar seems to be really off.)
We celebrated Mom's birthday the day before the actual day because we were going to Genting on the actual day itself and da jie couldn't come along.
Hence... The usual seafood dinner! =D

*Fisherman's Village at East Coast Park.

*Butter Crayfish - Tasted great, though as with all crayfish is prbably not worth the price, lol.

*Fried Baby Sotong - Average taste, maybe a little on the tough side.

*Yam Ring - A total failure. I never knew you could suck at yam ring until today lol. The yam was not soft and "flaky (is that the right word?)" but was instead, hard and stuck to the roof of our mouth, in a most disgusting way. When the waitress asked how our food was, we nicely told her that it was the worst yam ring we had ever tasted and she kindly agreed to remove it from our bill. She was also very apologetic about it and wanted her chefs to test it.

*Seafood Dong Fen - I didn't actually eat this, but mum says it was not bad.

*Black Pepper Crab - The best dish in the lot. Crab was big and juicy, also fresh, and very flavourful in taste. Everyone was happy with it. =D
Other dishes included a KangKong and a Sotong You Tiao which were both acceptable as well.
Final verdict - Price wise was acceptable as well. Service was good. Can return to said restaurant but try not to order yam ring, lol.
